What do you do when you clean a computer?
When we clean a computer, we focus on the touch points (ie. the keyboard and mouse) and the monitor. We remove all of the dust, debris and food from beneath the keys. All grease and grime due to continual hand contact is also removed - not just from the tops of the keys but between the keys too, as well as from the mouse ball and rollers. The touch points are restored to a near-new hygienic condition. The dust is removed from monitor vents and finger marks are removed from the screen. Any pen marks and residual sticker glue are also removed.
An internal clean is only recommended for computers located in relatively dusty and dirty environments. Dust and debris will clog air vents and create an insulation layer over senstive componentry. An impeded airflow results in an over-heated and under-performing computer. This service involves removing all dust and debris from external case vents can crevices. We open the computer case, vacuum the case interior and remove dust and debris from the motherboard and other components, as well as blow dust out of the power supply unit.
What do you do when you clean a Server Room?
Our trained operators wipe down all surfaces in a server room to remove any dust and debris. If required, we can also vacuum any under floor areas. Any PCs or similar located in a server room will also be cleaned upon request.
What do you do when you clean a laser printer?
Did you know that paper / toner dust and debris is a significant contributor to printer mechanical breakdowns and poor print quality? Our preventative maintenance service will help ensure a maximum 'up time' for your fleet of paper-fed equipment.
We clean the external surfaces (removing and grease and grime, pen marks and residual glue), remove paper and toner dust from within the printer using a purpose-built vacuum cleaner and remove the dust from air vents.
If required, we have a preferred supplier who can carry out repairs on faulty printers, and replace parts and toner cartridges (see www.bizequip.co.nz). Well maintained laser printers will provide years of trouble-free operation.
What cleaning products do you use?
Our general purpose cleaning product is a combined de-greaser and anti-bacterial solution that provides anti-static protection. It has a faint citrus smell and is non-toxic. Stronger chemicals are used for residual glue and stubborn marks. A de-greaser lifts the grease from the surface without causing damage. We also have a variety of cleaning products for cleaning screens. Home cleaning products are not suitable for cleaning computer equipment and are often not de-greasers.
Do you have standard operating procedures?
Yes. All of our operators are fully trained and supervised and wear clearly identifiable uniforms. We have documented cleaning procedures. We prefer to have all equipment turned off prior to cleaning particularly laptops, older PCs, Mac computers and PCs with Microsoft multi-media keyboards.
What is your policy regarding damage caused to equipment?
We have a policy of 'reinstatement'. We will make good any damage, if any, caused by our operators while cleaning. Where we cannot replace a broken item, we will deduct the cost of the any damage from our invoice. We require any damage to be notified to us within 2 working days of the clean. We reserve the right to not clean relatively old equipment, or equipment crucial to the continued operation of the business, if we believe our cleaning will cause damage to the equipment, or if failure of the equipment will cause a fundamental disruption to your business. We will only accept liability for damage caused during an internal clean where we saw that computer in operation prior to the internal clean.
Do you clean premises?
No. We are specialist technology cleaners and we do not clean general office areas. We do however clean dedicated network server rooms and facilities as these are not usually cleaned by general office cleaners.
